Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in downtown Galena at the 10th Annual Shamrock Shimmy Race and St. Patrick’s Day Parade, presented by the Galena Elks Lodge.

The day begins with the Kids Mini Shimmy Dash at 11:00 a.m., followed by the lively adult beer can chase at 11:15 a.m. Runners then take to Main Street for the Shamrock Shimmy 5K at 11:30 a.m. ($30 registration; kids’ dash is free).

At 2:00 p.m., the St. Patrick’s Day Parade fills Main Street with festive floats, music, and Irish spirit. Parade line-up begins at 1:30 p.m. near the Downtown Galena Post Office.
