Get to Galena – September Edition

Have you ever explored Galena? Whether it’s a family trip, a golf outing with your buddies, or a girlfriend getaway, this is a destination you don’t want to miss. Known for beautiful views, a rich history, small boutiques, and rolling vineyards, there is something for everyone to enjoy in Galena. So, what are you waiting for? Here are just a few things to do this month once you’re here!

Ladies Getaway Weekend

You heard that right! From Sept. 7-9, Main Street will be dedicated to the ladies. From 10 a.m.-10 p.m., ladies can visit downtown Galena for a weekend out with their BFFs. There will be events, games, and shopping extravaganzas. Ladies can spend the weekend catching up over drinks, getting a head start on holiday shopping, or dining one of the many Galena restaurants.  Event admission is free!

Mallard Fest

Quack, Quack! Hanover is celebrating the arrival of fall with their annual Mallard Fest. Duck calling contest anyone? On Saturday, Sept. 15 from 9 a.m.-10 p.m., there here will be a parade, delicious food, games for the children, pontoon boat rides, music and fireworks. Admission is $7 per family, $3 for adults, and $1 for children.

48th Annual Warren Pumpkin Festival

This old-fashioned festival has all you need to celebrate fall. They have antique tractor pulls, a parade, carnival rides, pumpkin-themed games, lots of food and beverage, and much more. This event is free and fun for the whole family. Located in the beautiful downtown Warren, this event will take place on Friday, Sept. 21- 23 starting at 5 p.m.

51st Annual Tour of Historic Homes

This event is a guided tour of five private historic homes open only from 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29 to Sunday, Sept. 30 at 5 p.m. This tour gives history lovers the opportunity to see why Galena’s 19th Century architecture and interiors are second to none. The tour includes a free shuttle and admission fees will soon be posted.

Massbach Stomp

On Saturday, Sept. 29 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., the Massbach Ridge Winery wants to celebrate a successful harvest with you in their vineyard. It’s not called the Massbach stomp for no reason, jump in feet first, and stomp grapes till you’re purple!  Take a tour of the winery or just sit back and enjoy the live music! Admission is $5.
