Main Street in Downtown Galena – also known as the Helluva Half Mile – offers endless activities, shopping and dining experiences. Restaurants like Fried Green Tomatoes and Vinny Vanucchi’s Little Italy are sure to satisfy your palate for lunch or dinner. Multiple art galleries sit on this stretch of the town, in addition to shops and boutiques to keep shoppers busy for hours. Check out the wineries and breweries available for tours during your stay. Plus, it wouldn’t be a historic town without its share of ghost tours!
Take a tour of the Best of Galena’s Bed and Breakfasts on Dec. 16 during the Mistletoe Stroll, touring the parlors and dining rooms that have been decked out for the holidays while enjoying some tasty treats. In the town of Warren, from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. every Saturday until January 7, the Festival of Trees will be hosted at the historic Warren Community Building, where more than 50 uniquely decorated trees will be decorated by organizations and individuals throughout the community.
After the New Year, join us for Galena LitFest in its fourth year on Saturday, January 13. Enjoy tea with Jane Austin, dining events with the authors and free workshops throughout the day through the Galena Public Library. On January 27, Galena will host a Whiskey Weekend, where more than 100 varieties of whiskey will be available for the tasting at Historic Turner Hall.
