Powder Pups (Ages 4-12)
The sooner you can start them on the slopes the better! Our Powder Pups Program is for young skiers 4-6 years old and focuses on ski games and small group activities that will help your little skier learn basic moves like snowplow turns and stops. The instructors stress an atmosphere of encouragement and improvement – giving the young Powder Pups the skill, confidence and independence to tackle the slopes on their own. Rates do not include rental. Lesson times Saturday & Sunday ONLY: 9 a.m.-noon, or 1-4 p.m.
You will be required to be on-premises when your children are participating in our programs. We encourage you to watch your child’s progress from a discreet distance, as to not distract them during their lessons. Instructors utilize a mountain paging system to notify you if any concerns arise during the lesson. You may also leave messages for your children or family members at the Children’s Center. Our programs fill up fast, so advanced reservation is suggested. Call 815-777-4650 or email email@example.com to reserve your child’s spot. Registrations starts at 8:30 a.m. Please allow a half hour to register your child at the Children’s Center. Rates do not include rental, but rentals are available at registration.

Burton Learn To Ride (Ages 7 & Older)
The biggest name in snowboarding has teamed up with Chestnut Mountain to provide new riders with a solid foundation on which to build their skills. The Learn To Ride (LTR) Program has been developed by a team of knowledgeable professionals in the snowboarding industry to make learning snowboard easy, fun and exciting. It’s the perfect program for beginner boarders.
By joining forces with the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI), the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI) and rental shops around the globe, Burton Snowboards has established a learning program that really works. They’ve developed boards, boots and bindings specifically designed for the beginner rider, and have tested these products with real people in real lessons to ensure their quality and performance. All elements of the Learn To Ride Center are designed by riders, for riders – from equipment setup to instruction and appropriate learning terrain. Because the ultimate goal of LTR is to eliminate the stressful pressures of learning a new sport – making it fun, easy and enjoyable for all the young boarders. It’s a program that gets results. Beginners will feel comfortable enough on a board to be linking turns on their very first day out.
