Here are the steps it will take for you to start your journey to become a ski/snowboard safety
professional:
First Year:
- Attend a “ski along” with the patrol where you will learn about the time and financial commitments.
- Begin the Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) course.
- Complete and pass the Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) exams.
Second Year:
- Attend refresher and lift evacuation training in October.
- Begin toboggan training and ski proficiency training when the hill opens.
- Complete and pass toboggan training and ski proficiency, usually in February.
